This
is a US $2.5 billion unique offshore development
covering 985 acres of reclaimed land. The
name given to this iconic destination revives
the country’s traditions and the strong
historical and cultural ties to the sea. The Pearl is Qatar’s
first and one of the largest real estate
ventures offering freehold residential rights to
international investors. Creating over 30
kilometers of new coast line, this new
Mediterranean style habitat will offer a safe,
relaxed, and friendly environment to over 30,000
residents. The Pearl- Qatar is being built
some 350 meters offshore the West Bay Lagoon
area of the country’s capital Doha. It will have
its distinct 10 districts to be developed in
three-phases over a period of five years. The
island will have three luxury hotels, four
marinas, with combined mooring for over 700
boats, and more than 90,000 square meters of
luxury retail and restaurant space, spread over
three main harbors.
The Project is expected to be completed in
2009 with the first investors expected to take
up residency by the beginning of 2008. The Pearl –
Qatar master developer is UDC (United
Development Company), Qatar’s largest private
sector shareholding
company.
